National Tree Week is coming up at the end of November and this is a great opportunity to celebrate trees in Thanet! Take a walk with us in the park guided by tree expert Peter Hasted, to discover what these trees mean to so many people.

TUF was originally set up as ITTWI – Isle of Thanet Trees & Woods Initiative, when a number community groups came together in 2019. They were Thanet Community Forest School, Colourful Margate and The Sunken Gardens, Westgate. They were successful in applying for and winning grant funding from the Urban Tree Challenge Fund (Forestry Commission. Planting started in 2020 and continues.
